About Us

Bob and Lou Greteman started The Greteman Agency, Inc. in 1950 as a complete insurance agency including the sale of life insurance.   From a humble home office to the present Highway 30 West office location, the development of the agency has been based on hard work with an emphasis on customer service. 

            From 1973 to 1992 Mike, Jim, David and Matt Greteman returned to Carroll after working in various insurance, real estate and other industries on their own to gradually take over the partnership.  The second generation partners continue with the principals of hard work and customer service that their fathers began. 

            In 1992 the Agency purchased Bob Kraus Insurance and Real Estate to become the Greteman Kraus Agency and was prosperous as that entity for the next 14 years.  In 2006 the agency adopted the name of Greteman & Associates that it operates under today.

           The firm continues to grow and prosper with a new generation.  Mike’s son in law Jair Mayhall began in 2007 now serves as full-time licensed insurance and real estate specialists alongside Mike, Jim, David and Matt.

The Agency's Client Service Representatives (CSR) are Jacquie Mason, Melissa Reiling and Cindee Bentley.  The CSR's are licensed in Personal and Commercial lines of insurance and are critical to our customer oriented philosophy.

            Currently Greteman & Associates consists of 5 full-time licensed Property Casualty insurance producers, an associated Life and Health insurance specialist and 3 full-time Client Service Representatives.  Between us, we have over 175 years of experience in the insurance field as well as two certified Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters, a CPA and an attorney.
